After one month in Italy
Okay here's some news after almost one month in Italy..
Beginning of the week I went 3 days to France to visit some racing boats over there. I am happy I went to La Ciotat, where I had some good chats. Nothing concrete, but my folder with hardcopy CV's is getting lighter. I have almost done the most important Maxi's and Wally's now.
At the end of the week I had a few interviews with boat captains and project managers, talking about their racing programs and (...)

First cappuccino in Italy
A quick post of what has been happening the last weeks:
Begin February I flew home to Belgium to visit my family. Finally I could catch up with my parents and brothers and sisters! So much to talk about, so good to be home. A lot of relaxing too, hanging in the sofa, watching TV with my mum and sis, something really valuable when you travel a lot.
I visted my friend Annick, who bought a cloud of a son. Congrads girl!
Not to forget the visit of Maria to (...)

Arrived in Cape Town after 6000 miles
Over 6000 miles after Tenerife (Canary Islands) Table mountain of Kaapstad rises at the horizon. We arrived. We made it!
It feels like a kid in a candystore here at Cape Town, SA, there is so much to do, so much to see. I don't know where to start.. This place is so beautiful, so pure and wild, it's a shame I can't really afford to stay here for the winter.
I'll upload some pictures and some newsfeeds later. There is much more to slip in. One moment I will sit (...)

New Year at Fernando de Noronha, Brazil
Last days on Fernando de Noronha where awsome!
When we saw the island dooming in the early morning with all the rocks and roughness we thought, this is going to be nothing. No people are living here. We felt a bit like discovery adventurers when we sailed around the island with no charts, eyes on the depthsounder. Than I spotted a big radar on top of a mountain scanning for us in the East, but attempts to call port control or anybody else where unsuccessful. When I switched on (...)

Crossing the equator
After the doldrums, 12 minutes from the Equator and heading for Brasil!
Yesterday me and Pieter did all we could to convince Benjamin it was a good idea to stop over at Fernando de Noronha, an island about 200 miles off the Brazilian coast. We have some good excuses to do that. First of all, it really breaks the trip, so good for moral. Pieter can buy fresh fruit and vegetables, which will save us from eating can food, something Benjamin has bad experience with haha. (...)
